Cinnamon-Cinnamomum Zeylanicum (दारुचिनी, दालचीनी ):

(V- P+ K-) It is Bitter, Sweet and Pungent in taste, ‘Virya’ is Heating & ‘Vipaka’ is Pungent. It is Light, Dry and Penetrating. The bark and skin of the plant are used for medicinal purposes.

Bio-Chemically, it has a large percentage of ‘Eugenol’, an Anti-Fungal Agent. It also contains Essentials Bio-Chemical Compounds like Aldehydes, Ketones, Alcohols, Esters and Terpenes. It consists of Proteins and few Minerals. Bark is rich in Tannins and Mucilage (Soluble Fibre of Viscous Nature).
