Cysts are fluid filled sacs and keep forming and dissolving-decomposing all the time in the Uterus of females. If the size of Cysts increase, or they pain, the treatment need to be given. Cysts can take various forms including PCOD–Polycystic Ovarian Disorder; Though PCOD would also include, Unwanted Hair, Irregular Periods, Fertility Issues etc.
Broadly, Ovarian Cysts are of two types: ‘Functional Ovarian Cysts–Form as part of Menstrual Cycle, Dissolve on their own and are short lived. These are mostly Benign-Non-Cancerous. As they are part of Menstrual Cycle, these would not form Post Menopause Phase’ and ‘Pathological Ovarian Cysts (Non-functional)-Less Common, form due abnormal cell growth & could be malignant’.
Further ‘Functional Ovarian Cysts’ are of two types such as ‘Follicle Cyst’ & ‘Corpus Luteum Cyst’. Now, we did read in previous posts (Female Reproductory System & Inability to Conceive-Ovulation) about function of Follicle. As the tiny sac-follicle breaks open, egg is released. On the contrary if the sac doesn’t break open, it forms Follicle Cyst, which usually would go away in a few months’ time.
Corpus Luteum Cyst (CL Cyst): As above, as the sac breaks open & egg is released, empty follicle would usually shrink & get ready for release of next egg. On the contrary, if the sac closes back again and fluid collects inside, it forms CL Cyst. This is painful and/or leads to bleeding.
Ovarian Cysts which do not dissolve on their own and/or take toxic form (Due Pathogens or Other Reasons–Non Functional) are bound to adversely affect the functions of ovaries (‘Release Egg or Ovum as part of Menstrual Cycle’ and ‘Release/Regulate female Reproductive Hormones Estrogen & Progesterone (Amongst Other Functions))’. Sometimes many small cysts are formed in the ovary/ies. This is PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and would invariably cause an adverse effect on fertility & cause Inability to Conceive. PCOS, per se leads to many other complications in the body, such as ‘Hair Growth (Higher Levels of Mala Hormones)’, ‘Insulin Metabolism gets adversely affected => Obesity, High Blood Sugar Levels…’, Heart Disorders & may even cause Cancers (Uterine Cancer…).
Causes broadly would firstly again be ‘Poor Immune-Metabolic System’, ‘Poor Eating Habits-Lifestyle’, ‘Medical Conditions such as Cancers-Diabetes…’, ‘Side-Effects of Medicines’… Cysts Formed after Menopause could be Cancerous (High Probability-so after an age it is imperative to keep body Alkaline & Nutritional Intake Sufficient).
Get them diagnosed with an Ultrasound Scan (Probe would be placed through the vagina) and a Blood Test. After this follow a Natural-Herbal Treatment Route!! Be Intelligent!!
Cysts if get Swollen, Ruptures or Get Infected etc. would cause Symptoms such as ‘Pelvic and/or Lower Abdomen) Pain-Dull to Sudden Severe Pain-with/without fever’, ‘Painful Intercourse’, ‘Uneasy Bowel Motion’, ‘Distention-Bloating’, ‘Rapid Breathing’, ‘Fertility Issues’… ‘Dizziness with Severe Pain in Lower Abdomen/Back/Thighs could signify Cyst Rupture’.

I always fail to understand why do we have to hinder the Natural Occurring Processes of The Body ever! Rock The Boat – Find The root Cause – Why Cysts are forming – Excess Acidity/Toxins/Pathogens in the Body…And, Then Eliminate Them.
Ayurvedically, Cysts are Kaphaja Granthi (Cysts-Knots of Fibres containing Dirty Kapha). Primarily it is Vitiation of Kapha Dosha, Though Vitiation of All Three Doshas is involved. Vitiated Doshas in turn Vitiate Body Tissues such as Blood (Raqta), Muscle (Mamsa) & Fat Tissue (Medas).

Home-Natural Remedies to Ovarian Cysts-PCOS:
- 2 Tabs of Kanchanar Guggulu Twice Daily with a glass of warm water, with 2-3 Tsp of Organic Honey (0% Sugar Added) 1-2 Hours after Meals,
- Once a Day: Boil a Glass of Water with 1/3rd Tsp of Coarse Black Pepper and 1/3rd Tsp Dry Ginger (Saunth) => Take it off Heat => Add a Tsp of Pure Desi Cow Ghee and drink,
- Make Decoction of ½-1 Tsp Liquorice Powder (Till a Glass of Water Remains Half) and have it Once-Twice a day,
- Shatavari Capsules: One Tablet Morning & Evening with a Glass of Warm Water,
- Shilajit: One Tablet Morning & Evening with a Glass of Warm Water, with 2-3 Tsp of Organic Honey (0% Sugar Added) 1-2 Hours after Meals,
- Giloy (Guduchi): Decoction of 6-10 Leaves twice a day,
- Lodhra Decoction Twice a Day,
