Ayurvedic-Home Remedies for Back Pain-Sciatica Pain

The Back Pain-Sciatica Pain are mostly Vata related ailments (With Vitiation of Pitta also a factor Many Times). Also note, Most (If Not All) ailments would involve some imbalance of all Doshas.

The usual Back-pain in women results due imbalance in mensuration. May happen due excess physical labour, and may aggravate in pregnancy.

Sciatica Pain usually results by compression (or Irritation) of Sciatica Nerve. It is usually felt at the lower back, all the way down, below the knee.

This could be due usual aging process, Degenerative Spinal Health, Falling Health Status of Joints of Lumber Spine, or simply sitting in one position for prolonged hours, Suppression of Natural Urges (Results in Severe vitiation of Vata), Physical Injury etc.

The Back-Pain or The Sciatica Pain, both could also result due Sitting-Standing or Sleeping in wrong manner.

Few Effective Cures for Back Pain-Sciatica Pain:

  1. Take Small Caltrops (Gokshura, Gokhru) Powder and Dry Ginger (Saunth) in equal quantities, add it to a glass of water, make decoction – boil till water remains 3/4th – ½, add Rock Candy and drink,
  2. Take Dry Ginger (Sounth), Harad (Terminalia Chebula, Myrobalan, Haritaki) and Giloy (Tinospora Cordifolia Miers, Guduchi) in equal quantities; Mix them well, and have ½ a teaspoon of this mixture twice a day. The Mixture should preferable be taken with 2-3 Tsp of melted A2 Ghee (Prevents Pitta Vitiation due Hot Potency of this Mixture) or with Warm-Hot water,
  3. Take Dry Ginger (Saunth), Rock Salt, Black Pepper and Vaividang (Embelia Ribes, False Black pepper) in equal quantities, make their mixture and have ½ Tsp (Slowly increase to 1 Tsp) in the morning hours (Before 0800 Hrs).
  4. Take ½ Tsp of Black and White Cumin Seeds, Roast them in liberal amount of Pure Desi Cow Ghee, add a bit of Rock Salt and Asafoetida (Heeng). Take ½ of this dose in the morning and ½ in evening with 2-3 Tsp of Honey.
  5. Make Decoction of Bark of Ficus Religiosa (Sacred Fig, Peepal Tree), and have it twice a day.
  6. Take Dried Indian Gooseberry (Awla Powder) (Say 2-3-4 Teaspoons), Dry Ginger (Saunth) (say ½-1 Teaspoon) and Gur (Jaggery): Boil the mixture in 250 mL of water, filter it, have it 3-4 times a day (i.e. divide the mixture into 3-4 parts).
  7. Starting from Minimal Quantity, regular Use of Yogaraj Guggulu.

Back Pain-Sciatica Pain: External Application:

  1. Add Dry Ginger and Crushed Garlic to Mustard Oil, Cook for few minutes, cool the oil and apply on the affected parts. Induce as much sweating as practicable, at least in the affected parts, if not in whole body.
  2. Apply Turpentine Oil on The Painful Parts (Might cause redness, so start by using minimal quantities).
  3. Take Castor Oil Plant Leaves, Apply Mustard Oil (Little Warm), Place them along The Cotton Strip, Fasten along the Back.
  4. Add Camphor to Mustard Oil, Keep it in Sunlight for it to become warm, or heat on very mild flame, Massage the Back.

Other Ayurvedic-Unconventional-Natural Remedies could be (No Yuck Factor!):

  1. Colloidal Silver, Copper & Gold,
  2. 3-5% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide,
  3. Food Grade Baking Soda,
  4. Honey with Various Herbs,
  5. Organic Wheat Grain Sprouts,
  6. DMSO-DMSO-Nano-Silver,
  7. Melted A2 Ghee added to Nostrils and/or A2 Ghee added to Cooked Pulses/Vegetables and/or A2 Ghee added to A2 Milk Boiled with Pinches of Turmeric…and so on…

All this accompanied by at least 60 minutes of Anulom Velom (With comfortable amount of Breath Retention) (If the health allows, Of Course), and 5-10-20 minutes of Kapal Bhati in the Morning and Evening.

Favourable: Pomegranate, Walnuts (Cooked in Pure desi Cow Ghee), Black Gram, Horse Gram, Raisins, Pure Desi Cow Ghee, Pure Desi Cow Milk, Castor Oil, Aloe Vera Juice…                                                                                                         Few Favourable Yogasanas are: Sukhasana (Folded Legs), Bhujanga or Ardh-Bhujanga Asana, Ardha Matsyendrasana… Remember, any type of Back pain, we should simply avoid Bending forward.               Unfavourable: Suppression of Natural Urges, Indulgence, Staying Awake Late Night…
