Understanding Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Multiple Sclerosis is a Chronic, Progressive & Degenerating Neurological condition. It is An Auto Immune Disorder affecting Central Nervous System (CNS). It mostly affects Optic Nerve, Brain, Spinal Cord Accompanying Damage to Myelin (A Fatty-White Substance, Surrounds Axon of Few of the Nerve cells, Insulates Nerve Fibres; This Nerve Fibres surroundings is Responsible for Proper Nerve Impulse transmissions). In MS, this is what gets Damaged. During Infancy, Quick Myelination is Responsible for Fast development of the Kid). It is an Idiopathic Ailment with Causes Unknown. It mostly affects Between The Age of 18-45 Years. As compared to Tropical regions, MS is More Prevalent in Temperate Regions. Women are affected twice over.

The Condition is Caused/Deteriorates due Destruction of Myelin Producing Cells By The Immune System. Demyelination causes Hardening of Nerve Fibres in Various regions such as Spinal Cord, Brain Stem, Optic Nerves, Skin and so on… This then obviously Slows Nerve Impulses and results in Weakness, Numbness, Pain, Muscle Spasms, Apparent Muscle Contractions, In-coordination/Imbalance in Body Parts, Vision Problems, Abdominal-Digestive Disorders, Vocal Chords get affected.

If Re-Myelination is not done By Proper Lifestyle-eating Habits Changes-Diet-Herbs, and if one continues with Suicidal Eating Habits, Plaques (AMA) Would Eventually Build up Around Affected Axons.

A person may experience various up-downs in the ailment, as the nerves get repaired by the body, worsen again, and eventually symptoms worsen, as Hardening and Plaque formation happens.

Also, instead of Blindly Pumping Toxic Supplements-Medicines into the body, let us first know that MS is associated with ‘Inability of Body to Generate Enough Anti-Oxidants by Itself’, and Deficiency of Various Nutrients & Bio-Chemicals such as:

  • Selenium,
  • Vitamin B-12,
  • Vitamin D,
  • Vitamin E,
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids (Flaxseed, Flaxseed Oil,
  • Low Levels of CoQ10

Diet-daily regime in next Post would amply cover Sources for All These. Also, Please Follow Under-Mentioned Link for Consolidated List of Lifestyle-Eating Habits, That Must Be ‘Strictly Adhered to’ or ‘As Strictly Followed as Possible’:

MS is classified depending on Severity/Stage of Neurological Symptoms, and The Responsiveness of The CNS.

Types of Multiple Sclerosis:

  • Relapsing-Remitting MS: Most Common form of MS, Characterised by Deteriorating Symptoms, Increased Frequency, Periods of reduced Symptoms (Remission). Random Attacks-Recovery Chances are Good. On Recovery, The symptoms may remain Dormant for Months or years!
  • Primary Progressive MS: Steady progression of Symptoms, Deterioration of Nerve Sheaths, with ‘A Few’ Remissions.
  • Secondary Progressive MS: Initially similar to Relapsing-Remitting, but eventually ‘Remissions’ Do Not Take Place.
  • Progressive-Relapsing MS: As the Symptoms Relapse, Full Recovery does Not take Place, Degeneration-Symptoms keep worsening over time. This form is Least prevalent.

From Ayurvedic Perspective, This could result from Vitiation of any/all Doshas. The Nerve Sheath – A Kapha protective Sheath is damaged; Pitta Has eroded it; The Required Unctuousness of Kapha is Lost to Underlying Vata, which then Degenerates…

Now, The So-Called Modern Science and ‘The Presumably Highly Qualified Doctors’ say ‘There is No Cure For MS’; Well, let Us Try Out Changes-Remedies in the Next Post, and may Be, we are in for Some Surprise. It is Better to Try & Try Hard, than To Just give Up, and try from Some Angles which May Provide Hope, and as yet, That Angle is Definitely Not Allopathy…

But Caution, Whatever you may try going through this or any other stuff on Net, I am Not Responsible for same and you shall be fully responsible for your actions and judgements…
